Yogyakarta, August 19, 2025 — Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta (UPY) continues to strengthen its presence on the international stage through strategic global partnerships. On Monday, August 18, 2025, UPY—represented by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and International Cooperation, Dr. Septian Aji Permana, M.Pd—participated in a collaborative discussion with the Government of China, focusing on industrial development initiatives.
The event took place at Chengdu University, China, bringing together more than 450 participants from across five continents. Within this global forum, UPY reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the quality of its graduates through international programs that are both practical and aligned with global workforce demands.
A key outcome of this engagement is UPY’s involvement in the Talent Enhancement Program (TEP), a soft skills development program aimed at preparing students for the global industrial sector. As part of the collaboration, 25 UPY students are scheduled to travel to China in 2025 to undergo intensive industrial training.
Dr. Septian Aji Permana emphasized UPY’s holistic approach to student development, stating that career orientation begins early in each student’s academic journey—whether pursuing direct entry into the workforce or continuing their studies abroad through scholarship opportunities.
“This partnership reflects UPY’s unwavering commitment to graduate excellence. We strive to ensure that our students are not only academically capable but also equipped with the practical competencies and readiness needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market,” he remarked.
Through this initiative, UPY aspires to produce graduates who are globally competitive and fully prepared to respond to the dynamic challenges of the modern industrial world.
