UPY Strengthens International Collaboration Through Partnership with Yuntech Taiwan

Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta (UPY) has officially established an international partnership with the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (Yuntech), Taiwan. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, during a strategic consortium meeting hosted by Universitas PGRI Semarang (UPGRIS), involving leaders from PGRI universities across Indonesia.

The MoU was signed by UPY Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Paiman, M.P., marking a significant step in UPY’s commitment to strengthening its global academic network. This collaboration is part of a joint initiative by 17 PGRI universities aimed at expanding international engagement in education, research, and innovation.

The Rector of Yuntech led the visiting delegation, which included university executives, distinguished alumni, and business leaders from Taiwan. Their presence reflects Yuntech’s strong intention to build long-term, sustainable cooperation in Southeast Asia, particularly with Indonesia.

“This is more than a ceremonial signing. It marks the beginning of a broad and strategic collaboration, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and cross-border entrepreneurial development,” said Prof. Paiman following the signing ceremony.

This landmark event also reaffirms PGRI’s growing role, not only as a national educational organization, but also as an emerging global academic force. Through this partnership, UPY students and academic community members will gain greater access to international learning opportunities, global research ecosystems, and innovative resources from a world-class partner institution.
